Simone Biles
Simone Biles, American gymnast (born 14 March 1997 in Columbus Ohio U.S.) is considered to be one of sport's best athletes. She was the first female gymnast from America ever to win four gold medals in one Games. In Rio de Janeiro, she also became the first woman to have won successive World All-Around championships. Biles is a native of Spring Texas. Her grandparents Ronald Biles (and her sister Adria) took them in as adoptees. The Biles family grew up in the Houston metropolitan area. Simone began to be interested in gymnastics while she was only six years old. Her coach Aimee Borman brought her to Bannon's Gymnastix and they took them to a field trip. Biles won a gold in floor exercises and also a bronze in vault during the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010. She then stepped into the elite level of competition in the year 2011. In just two short years, she had become the top athlete in her field. Biles was distinguished by her consistently high performance and exuberant personality as well as the difficulty she encountered at all four events including vault, uneven bars and balance beam.
